Hotel Review: Anantara Siam, Bangkok

Hotel review: Anantara Siam, Bangkok (Siam Suite) Bangkok, May 2018 Introduction After a beach holiday in Hua Hin I had booked a room for one night at Anantara Siam in Bangkok. I wanted to try a new hotel and this would be our second Anantara experience on this trip after checking out their sister property Anantara Riverside Resort about a week earlier. This time I booked a Kasara Club Room directly from the hotel's website. The price was pretty much the same everywhere, but booking directly got us an afternoon tea set for two at the lobby for free, and that sounded like a fun thing to try. Check-in and lobby We arrived at the hotel after 2pm, pretty close to a normal check-in time. Anantara Siam, The Lobby Our bags were immediately taken care of by the welcoming staff, and we were seen to the most luxurious lobby I'd ever seen. This really looked like a five star hotel to me! The hotel radiated elegance and style, and there...

Hotel review: Anantara Riverside Resort, Bangkok

Hotel review: Anantara Riverside Hotel, Bangkok (Deluxe Junior Suite) Bangkok, April 2018 Introduction After reading lots of reviews and contemplating on the price, quality and location, I opted to book a Deluxe  room with breakfast for one night at Anantara Riverside, and this turned out to be a good choice: Anantara Riverside Resort is now perhaps our favorite 5 star hotel in Bangkok so far! Comparing prices I chose to book the room via Orbitz.com. The hotel belongs to Orbitz VIP properties, so as an Orbitz Platinum member there were to be an extra perk. After booking that turned out to be 25% off Spa service (per day). In addition I had subsrcibed to Business Traveller magazine, which included GHA Platinum membership. Anantara belongs to GHA, so I thought I would see if it gave me anything extra. Usually it's not much use if you don't book via hotel directly... Check-in and lobby Our Finnair flight from Helsinki arrived ...

Travelling to Asia in June with a child

Image
Introduction First plan: Bali As we were contemplating summer holiday plans, we came across a nice deal to Bali from London Heathrow. We found out that our summer months June-July-August were supposed to be excellent weather-wise and prices still pretty decent. Thus we started planning of spending three weeks in South-East Asia. After some calculations, schedule checks and lots of planning and reading we decided Bali was not for us this time. One of the issues we were concerned about was the number of stray dogs on the island (some of which still carry rabies). As our child is not used to dogs - especially bigger ones - we thought they wouldn't make our holiday very pleasant if you had to be on a constant lookout for them. Hence we ditched Bali. What next? Which areas have good weather in June in Asia? I started looking for other options as we sort of got excited of the idea of spending our holidays abroad. I found a few websites with some good weather inform...

Hotelliarvostelu: Dusit Thani, Bangkok (Dusit Club Room)

Image
Yhteydenottoihin vastattiin todella nopeasti,...
